A message from NOSOTROS 2nd Vice-President, Jesse Aranda:
On behalf of the NOSOTROS board of directors and its members, we are deeply saddened by the passing of our founder, Ricardo Montalban [R.I.P (1920- 2009)]. Mr. Montalban was a visionary and a man of integrity who saw a need in the entertainment industry, where minorities were under-represented in front-of and behind the camera. As actors, the roles offered to minorities were typically stereotypes. With a successful career like his, he could have easily coasted through the Hollywood machine but instead he dared to challenge the system. He formed an organization that would foster and nestle Latino/Hispanic talent to be more prepared for the challenges of the entertainment industry. For many current stars, Mr. Montalban paved the way and planted seeds for executives to become more sensitive to representing Latinos in a more positive manner. His career will serve as an example on how far a person can go when they dedicate themselves to their craft and their vocation. Mr. Ricardo Montalban will be greatly missed and our tribute will be to continue his mission for NOSOTROS.

The New Nosotros (Us Generation)
Goal:
Standing on the shoulders of Ricardo Montalban, Nosotros and the Us Generation (old and new Nosotros members) continue Montalban’s Mission and move forward to surpass the challenges the 21st Century offers to those pursuing a career in the Entertainment Industry.
Nosotros will serve as an incubator to help individuals who are pursuing a career in the Entertainment Industry, above and below the line. Nosotros will further develop their talent, as well as provide the means for them to become a true professional in their career by facilitating classes, mentorship, community outreach, career guidance, networking opportunities and exposure to the Entertainment Industry.
